Hello, my name is JN, and I am an attorney admitted in both Japan and New York. I’m thrilled to announce the launch of the new website designed to serve as a legal resource for foreign businesses operating in Japan.
This project was inspired by two main reasons: (1) During my studies in the U.S., I noticed a shortage of straightforward explanations of Japanese legal frameworks in English, and (2) with ongoing robust inbound investments into Japan, I aimed to provide legal resources beneficial for these businesses.
The ‘Articles’ page currently features 13 articles covering a wide range of topics such as differences between KKs and GKs under corporate law, labor and employment laws (dismissal regulations), real estate law, data privacy law, intellectual property, antitrust law, M&As, joint ventures, and renewable energy project financing, including details on the amended Renewable Energy Special Measures Act.
I have carefully written and reviewed these 13 articles to ensure consistency in style and substance, though I acknowledge there is room for improvement and intend to update them periodically.
